Director of Brand Strategy 

Apex Current’s ideal Director of Digital Campaigns will exhibit a thorough understanding of brands, consumers, emerging platforms and cultural contexts in the digital space. You should be innately curious with an appetite for uncovering powerful insights to drive brand growth. You’ll be responsible for leading the brand strategy team and upholding brand voice and tone across various brands and various platforms while remaining consumer-centric. You will need to be flexible, agile and able to work collaboratively with all teams to ensure our brands’ communication objectives and strategies are met.

Key roles and responsibilities: 

  • Lead the digital campaign team

  • Support the account leads and creative teams on brand and strategic projects

  • Lead and help create and present insight reports in audiences, cultural, marketing, brand and platform trends

  • Translate cultural trends and insights into creative ideas

  • Drive both quantitative and qualitative research methods

  • Lead the development of brand briefs to inspire idea-centric strategies

  • Plan and lead brainstorming and campaign concepting processes 

  • Proactively bring forward opportunistic ideas for brands and consumers to take advantage of in real-time contexts

  • Participate in client planning and meeting presentations

  • Assist in content strategy practices and writing techniques 

  • Possess solid research, writing and editing skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing, research, business or related field

  • 5+ years of brand strategy and planning experience, agency experience preferred

  • Proven team leader showing sustained proficiency in brand strategy and knowledge of brand planning process and associated skills

  • Strong background in digital media including native advertising, digital display, search, email, and social media

  • Proactive nature in the seeking of work/responsibility

  • High confidence with presentation skills and written/oral communication skills

  • Exhibits strong listening skills and the ability to tactfully communicate position on relevant issues to reach consensus

  • Dependability in execution of work 

  • Enthusiastic, solution-oriented attitude in accepting work/new challenges

  • Effective interpersonal skills working well across functions

  • Conscientious work ethic
